Half Square Triangle
Two at a Time
- On the wrong side of one fabric square, lightly draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner.
- Put two fabric squares right sides together, where the square with the line you drew is on top.
- Sew a 1/4″ seam on either side of the drawn line.
- Cut along the drawn line.
Four at a Time
- Put two fabric squares right sides together.
- Sew a 1/4″ seam around all four edges of the square.
- Without moving the square or pieces between cuts, make the following cuts:
- Cut the square diagonally, from corner to corner.
- Make another diagonal cut opposite to the one you already made.
Eight at a Time
- On the wrong side of one fabric square, lightly draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner.
- Draw another diagonal line opposite to the one you already made.
- Put two fabric squares right sides together, where the square with the lines you drew is on top.
- Sew a 1/4″ seam on either side of both drawn lines.
- Without moving the square or pieces between cuts, make the following cuts:
- Cut the square diagonally from corner to corner.
- Make another diagonal cut opposite to the one you already made.
- Cut the square in half length-wise.
- Make another length-wise cut opposite to the one you already made.
